i borrowed the Birds of Tokyo cd from the library
and i really like them
they're a
well i would describe it as
purely rock
slightly pop, but mostly rock band
:)

freak out #76

sorry my post is so late
i had a stressful incident last night
which prevented me from posting
and by stressful
i mean i had a little freak out
but all is cool now
cos i fixed it.

yeah my netbook usb ports didn't work at all yesterday
then i freaked out cos i hadn't registered my warranty yet
then i tried to make an account with acer australia
and i filled in everything
but it kept telling me that i didn't fill in the post code
thus i couldn't register
and yes
thus
very stressful
i managed to fix it but updating the usb drivers
even though there wasn't anything to update
and this was at like 12.30 last night
and cos i wanted to sleep early since i had to wake early for my 8.30 lecture
but i still hadn't printed my lecture notes
so i slept late yesterday
:(

but it's all good now.

heroes vs. villains #75

currently watching the new season of survivor
quite excited for this season
cos it'll be really interesting
especially with the villains
cos i mean usually you have 1 or 2 'evil' people
that lie and backstab to try and control the game
but now there's 10
all on one team
it'll be interesting who would be the ones that will lose by their own game
and get backstabbed instead of backstabbing

i also love the music they play for the respective teams
like for the heroes team
you have very heroic and upbeat/happy music
but then for the villains
you have very dark and dramatic music
i found that really funny

though i'm totally going for the heroes
actually i really want either colby or amanda to win
or james
and i really want russell to be voted off
he annoys me so bad
like i watched him last season
and this season
yes, want him out.

awkward pimples #74

i currently have a pimple
at the bottom of my elbow
and its really painful
and i wonder how on earth did a pimple end up there
like seriously

and once i had one on my butt cheek

that was kinda painful too
yeah
how do pimples end up in such strange places
i mean i get it if its on the face or back
but elbow?

for the first time
its sooo cute :)

also been having a lot of cake
my mum baked me a cake
and its like a 6 - 8 person cake
and well, its just me and my mum
so it'll take a while
and emma also got me a mrs fields cookie cake
which i haven't eaten yet
and my boss bought me cupcakes today
which was sweet
cake cake cake.

i dislike being in groups of 3s or more
i always find myself being the one walking alone
ie. two people walk together and one either infront or behind
but about 80% of the time
i'm usually the one by myself
missing out on the conversation
but then again
i don't know if its always because
i'm always the left one out
or i just instinctively walk by myself
cos well,
i can handle being alone
i'm very used to it.

i also dislike when people are talking
and its meant to be in a group situation
but they talk quietly to another person
and i find myself always wondering what they are saying
half the time i ask
but the other half of the time i don't
so i don't feel like i'm being annoying.
but yes.

just saying.

i was cleaning my room

when i looked at my timetable last week
for my lectures this week
well tmr i was meant to have
a lecture from 10 - 11
then 11 - 12
then 1 - 2
and a tutorial 2 - 3

then i looked again today
on top of that
i have a lecture 9 - 10
and the tutorial goes from 2 -4
sucks.

flood #65

so,
i was working right
10 - 6
my usual shift on saturdays
at the pharmacy.

but at around 3pm when the storms hit
the pharmacy was flooded
it all happened so quickly
we were standing there helpless
not knowing what to do
then for the next 2 and half hours
we (and others in the shopping centre) were trying to stop more water coming in/getting the water out
and i think if we just left it
the water would have been around 10 cm high
at some points of the shop
and i did get quite a work out
pushing the water out
and everything.
and i had my feet soaked in water for that amount of time
so disgusting.
i hate soggy feet.

also had another horrible public transport experience
except this time took no where near as long as last time
since after spending 40 mins on st kilda rd
the bus driver decided to drive on tram tracks instead
so it was a bit quicker
i still was home about an hour later than i would normally
but at least it wasn't 2 hours like last time

also pretty much all of the trees
in the city i saw
were stripped of their leaves
and there were leaves
EVERYWHERE.
but then impact in the west was no where near as bad
when i got off the bus
there was hardly any evidence of damage
ie. the trees still had their leaves

but yes
it was a CRAZY day.

PHOENIX #64

i went to see phoenix tonight
with jiali
it was pretty good
except that we weren't in the mosh pit
so we had seats in the back corner
but it was alright
oh, but there were an annoying bunch of guys behind us
that sorta kept boo-ing
just cos they didn't know a particular song
yes.
i liked most of it
except the fact that i was really tired
and the instrumentals (ie. love like a sunset)
people started chatting
which was a bit
hmm.
but
i was so excited when they finally played 1901
the place went wild
:)
yes, thoroughly enjoyed it
though i still think the best concert i've been to was the yeah yeah yeahs
i was on such a high after that

also, met some guy at the train station who went to the concert
one of those white washed asian, wearing skinny jeans and grey singlet with half shaved head types
:)
turns out he loves hungry jacks
(cos i was eating it)
and that he knows the prices for all the stuff
i thought that was interesting
HAHA.

then get into a conversation
and i realise mid conversation
that i've forgotten their name
its very frustrating
also cos i feel rude if i ask for their name again.

been watching better off ted lately
its really funny
and i also can't help comparing it to arrested development
well for 1) portia de rossi is in both
2) the male protagonist is a single parent businessmen
except for the fact that in arrested development george michael bluth is a not-so-bright adolescent
but rose crisp in better off ted is an extremely intelligent child
but yes
the shows are different in the setting
and a little different to each other
but ted, in better off ted
is just so likeable
whereas michael bluth is also quite likeable
but no where near as much
and rose crisp is soo adorable :)

and some of my fav parts are the fake ads for the company bit:

"veridian dynamics. we're a family, just like yours. but we don't waste our time throwing leaves around...... veridian dynamics. family. yay." LOL

by both watching this show and how i met your mother

so i have an excuse for not knowing that fact

i haven't actually started uni yet
didnt have any classes today
start at 9.30 tmr
which isn't too bad
i only have 1 8.30 start in a week
and the rest start at 10 or later
:)
i have 4 lectures tmr
and i'm already planning to skip one of them
lol
but i'm going to christian union instead
:)

anyway
i'm using my net netbook right now
its navy blue
and my mum bought it for me for my birthday :)
so i can carry it to uni and stuff
so that it won't be so heavy as carrying my laptop everyday
but it feels kinda weird
its so SMALL.
like the screen and keyboard and everything
its like half the size of my laptop
but i guess i'll get used to it
