So my aims for this holidays:

- READ A LOT. I have a bunch of books that I have in my possession that I have no yet read, I really think I should. Plus, I want to read the Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones).

I've sort of started this, I'm reading The Great Gatsby at the moment. Though I have read in before, when I was year 12 I never really got it. And then I remember talking to Clara about it that year, and she said that she loved it. Clearly, I'm the less romantic and literary one. So, I decided to finally read it again to really understand what the fuss is about. (This is also sparked by the fact that I can't wait for the movie, though admittedly I never imagined Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby, or Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway (I mean, really?) I always imagined Nick being quite young and in his late 20s)

- WATCH MOVIES. So I'm not a fan of watching movies in cinemas, just purely because it costs too much. But during holiday I do tend to watch a lot of movies because I have the luxury of being able to borrow them from libraries for free or rent them cheap. I remember last holidays I ended up watching The Beach and Shutter Island both Leonardo ones I really enjoyed. There were other ones too like The Prestige and others, but I've forgotten which ones now.

I've began this too, starting with Jane Eyre and also to rewatch the Lord of the Rings trilogy because I've never really seen it properly. I watched the Fellowship of the Ring yesterday, which I liked. I watched it with Jacky, I kept going 'who's that?' 'what's that?' 'where's he from?' but I don't think he minded because he wants me to watch them too.

so i watched a ton of shows yesterday simply because they all came out yesterday

i watched: survivor, america's next top model, modern family, up all night, free agents

i actually preferred free agents to up all night this week, the ending kinda made it too awkward. i don't like watching things that make me feel too awkward (which is one of the reasons why i stopped watching the office).

i also really enjoyed modern family, but it felt a bit weird how they changed lily. and that lily can talk so much now (and clearly), that it doesn't make sense she's 3. i mean 3 year olds can talk but not that clearly. i actually really enjoyed the silence of old lily, it really contrasted her extravagant parents and her. though i do like this new lily, it will just take some adjusting, that's all.

oh, also watched new girl, the day before that

i kinda like it

as in the episode is kinda slow but funny

but the ending of that episode was hilarious!

i really liked the douchebag jar as well

HAHA.

Spring shows

I feel like this spring isn't going to be that great for me uni work wise, and I say this because all my shows are coming back, and there's a lot of them. I mean, A LOT.

Survivor and America's Next Top Model came back last night, and I can tell this season of ANTM is going to be great because of the season preview. I mean they will be writing their own songs and singing them, and doing the music video for them. On a modeling show? Really? This is going to be HILARIOUS! And check out the final photo of all the models photoshopped together. I mean, someone was seriously having a crack when they thought it was a good idea to photoshop the girls spilling out of the bubble bath/pool AND Alexandria is no longer on a surf board, she now rides a motorcycle. AHAHAHAHA! Oh, this season is going to be so fun(ny)! I am glad that Allison Harvard (ie. creepy chan) is back, if you've read my older posts you may know I had a slight obsession over her.

I also started watching Up All Night today, pretty funny and light, I'll probably continue to watch it. It kind of reminds me of Raising Hope and Cam & Mitchell on Modern Family, sort of. (simply because they are also shows about raising babies)

And I also started Free Agents as well. I liked that too, but I'm not sure if I like it enough to continue watching. Maybe if I'm bored or something.

Day DIEZ // Favourite Abed moment

I have many favourite Abed moments, though a lot of them is with Troy. Some of my favourite Abed moments is when he is playing characters, and I have already mentioned them before in Day #2 here. So I'm mentioning some other ones.

But this is one of many favourites when he acts as 'himself' to approach a girl. This was the result:

Day NEUVE // Favourite Britta Moment

The thing with Britta is that she's does these weird things to try to be cool but end up being awkward and funny. I like her, but I feel at times she tries SO hard to be cool, that sometimes its annoying. Also, when she's funny, most of the time she's awkward funny.

So some Britta favourite moments:

- Britta's weird high five that turns into a snake (it happens a few times)

it's also at the end of this scene:

- Britta doing her dance recital watering the plants but gets stuck and Troy had to rescue her. (I also love Troy and his breakaway clothing. hahaha)

- When Britta shows up to the dance looking all hot to try and scare Jeff into thinking she invited her to go with him, but he had no clue because he drunk dialed her.

Day SEIS // Least Favourite Character

Least Favourite Character = Pierce Hawthorne

Played by = Chevy Chase

Whenever I ask someone about whether they like Pierce

or when they say 'I love Pierce, he's so funny.'

I can absolutely tell which season of Community they are watching.

Because in season one, Pierce was pretty clueless and harmless

and quite funny.

But in season two, sometimes he's nice and just clueless like season one

but sometimes he goes absolutely out of the way to be a villain.

Especially the documentary episode where he tries to punish his friends by pretending that he's dying

and he gives it the worst to Jeff who never knew is father

and he pretends that Jeff's father is coming to see him

and then tries to pose as Jeff's father.

What kind of friend does that?

And also the Dungeons and Dragons episode

where Pierce goes out of his way to ruin their game.

Or when he tries to ruin Abed and Troy's handshake.

So yes, Pierce is my current least favourite character

though I do feel like there is so much more to his character

and though I don't like his character at the moment, I know he adds so much drama and everything to the show.

And sometimes he's still pretty hilarious.

So, even though he's my least favourite character Community would not be the same without him.

Also, I must say Chevy Chase's characterisation of Pierce is great.

HIMYM SEASON 6 FINALE

just watched the season 6 finale of how i met your mother
and all i can say (not really say but you know) is this

BARNEY IS GETTING MARRIED!

I so thought that it was going to be Robin (that was getting married),
especially with Robin asking Ted to be her best man in the beginning of the season.

But having said that, I always knew that Barney was going to get married, because you can tell that it's what Barney wants for his life (having a wife & kids) but he's always been too afraid. And you can see it throughout the season, with him meeting his father and dating Nora, that he wants something more with his life. Also, in the meatball episode when they have a flash forward with Barney in his 'deathbed' asking Marshall to eat the meatball sub, Barney had a wedding ring on. But my initial shock was due to the fact that Barney still seems rather immature with these sorts of things, so I didn't think it was going to be him to get married (I assume, next in the group).

The question is who is Barney marrying: Robin or Nora? (or someone else?)

My theory is Nora, especially after the latest episode where Ted/Zoey's relationship was reflective of Robin/Barney's relationship saying that it was so easy to run back into the relationship but they both know that its not right and saying that they were a train wreck.

Quote from the last episode:

Robin: "The future is scary, but you can't run back to the past because it's familiar. Yes, it's tempting."

Barney: "But, it's a mistake."

Sorry to quash the hopes of those die hard Barney/Robin fans, but I highly doubt that Barney will be marrying Robin. Also, I really like the idea of Robin and secret crush (played by Michael Trucco).

I hope its Nora, because I really like Nora. I love her accent, and you could tell Barney was really into her and the only reason why Barney decided not to meet her parents was because he was scared of commitment but you could tell he so wanted to go inside, but fear got the better of him. And the season finale gave the hint of their possible wedding, since Barney asked her out again for 'coffee', which according to this episode is code for 'i want to get back together'.

I don't think it will be someone else, but it is a possibility.

Oh and in this latest episode, I cried when Lily was pregnant. I honestly didn't expect it/forgot about it, because they went off baby talk for so many episodes.

Also, I enjoyed the 'PSYCHE' when he said he met the mother, but obviously they're not going to make it that easy for us.

Day TRES // Favourite episode

My favourite episodes definitely have to be collectively the paintball episodes (maybe not so much the last one, though it was a good episode it wasn't as good as the other two paintball episodes)

Though it used to be hands down the first paintball episode

but i think 'A Fist Full of Paintballs' trumps the first one

only just.

Why I love 'A Fist Full of Paintballs' the most:

- I love the Western themed nature of it

- I love how Annie was the main character in that episode, who also happens to be one of my favourite characters.

- Following on from the point above, Annie was pretty awesome in that episode

- I love the naming of everyone as their cards, it was a very nice touch

- I liked how they had a western village/town set up by Pierce, with performers and people playing piano. That was pretty funny

- The Black Rider was pretty hot

- I loved the scene where Annie is in the science lab and cooks her baked beans with a bunsen burner. and then later where Abed eats her beans, that scene/exchange was one of my favourite Community scenes

And lastly, I really want to be in a paintball war like theirs

SURVIVOR REDEMPTION ISLAND FINALE

SPOILERS.

DO NOT READ ON IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED IT. OR IF YOU CARE.

I WARNED YOU.

Ok, so after watching the Survivor finale, I am quite glad that Rob won out of the three that were left. Because Natalie clearly didn't deserve it since she rode the coattails of Rob and Philip didn't deserve it since he only made it there because he alienated everyone, or alienated himself, and because part of the survivor game is the social game, Philip played a VERY poor social game. And I found it so interesting and so funny that in their opening statements, ALL of them credit Rob to getting to the final three. And interesting and true quote that I read (taken from buddytv here) was this:

"Basically, all three argue that Boston Rob was the mastermind, but Natalie and Phillip think befriending the mastermind is better than actually being the mastermind, which is kind of like saying that Tiger Woods doesn't deserve the Green Jacket for winning the Masters, his caddy does."

Very true, they had no hope of winning since both Natalie and Philip were pretty hopeless in challenges (though Natalie did actually win one of them, she was completely hopeless in the latter challenges). And neither of them made ANY (not any) big strategic moves, and followed faithfully to Rob's orders.

But, I do absolutely admire Rob's game play, it was pretty much a perfect game right to the end. The way he kept tabs on everyone, built trust with everyone to the point his alliance all trusted him that he never really needed to use his immunity idol. I particular admire that 'buddy system' he had, I mean yes, it was pretty much like a cult, but it was SO effective in keeping his soldiers in check. Also, the way he eliminated Matt twice, though completely harsh and heartless, was completely brilliant. Because in that move, he eliminated the one that was in the gray area, that maybe if he stayed Matt could have pulled Andrea along for something big, so he eliminated that possibility all together. And honestly if it were him, Ashley and Natalie in the end, I think he still would have won but it would have been much closer, since Ashley could have argued the fact that she was strong in challenges.

But having said ALL of that, the fact that Rob controlled everything made it a boring season and the producers kept having to rely on the fact that Philip annoyed the crap out of everyone to made episode interesting, which annoyed me after a while.

So in summary, AMAZING game play by Rob but boring season because of its predictability. As in, as soon as Rob won the last immunity challenge I KNEW HE HAD WON, and week by week whoever Rob said was going home was going home. Boring.

Hope next season will be more interesting, also I hope they have a Heroes and Villains season again in the future because I hope Matt and Mike return again as Heroes because I really liked them. In fact, I really wanted Mike to return from Redemption island instead of Andrea, so that was a bit of a bummer that he didn't.

Also, I hope Russell doesn't return though he makes interesting tv, he's a real jerk and I don't like him and he annoys me with his cockiness. Also, he played the EXACT same game that he has played the previous two seasons, it's failed for him twice so how on earth did he think it would work for him this time. And playing the exact same way by AGAIN choosing the two pretty girls to make his alliance with, that was his downfall. So RUSSELL HANZ, if you ever return to Survivor PLEASE change your game tactic because if you keep the same game, don't even bother coming back because its not going to work and its not worth watching you fail over and over again.

30 day Community Challenge // Day UNO

Sooo excited for part two of 'A Fist Full of Paintballs' Community Finale

Part one was AWESOME!

I'm a bit obsessed with the show at the moment

(though honestly, this season hasn't been as good except for the zombie episode and the last three episodes ie. monkey one, shirley giving birth and pt 1 of paintballs 2.0. Or maybe I haven't enjoyed it as much because they keep making Pierce extremely obnoxious/villainous and Jeff extremely insecure and Britta extremely try-hard to be cool)

so because of this I am doing a 30 day challenge like everyone else has been doing.

So DAY UNO (Spanish numbers because of a Spanish study group)

Favourite Female Character: Annie Edison

Played by: Alison Brie (having the same name as me, makes me like her more)

Annie is hilarious. She's a bit of a nerd and loves to study, and only beginning to come to terms with the fact that she's getting good looking/hot now. She's a bit of a goody two shoes and a bit of a goof (ie. see her attempting the robot .gif and her break dancing .gif). But she's pretty cool sometimes, see A Fist Full of Paintballs part 1, she was pretty cool. Quoting Abed: "She's pretty awesome today."

(Also, saying this from a girl perspective (but probably from a guys as well), how hot did Annie look in this latest paintball episode?)

The Cape

Just started watching 'The Cape'

its a new tv series, which is pretty much a comic book superhero series

and its kind of like Batman

fighting crime and corruption

though

as lame as it sounds

or looks

it's pretty interesting

well, i enjoyed the first two episodes anyway.

plus, i really like the clever naming of 'Orwell'

as in how she's all seeing but faceless

which is the same as Big Brother in George Orwell's 1984

well, i'm hoping that's why she's named that anyway.

plus, Summer Glau is really hot

and she really reminds me of Olivia Wilde.

Chess is also really creepy

the actor, James Frain, is really good at being villains

he was super creepy as Franklin in True Blood

so the basic plot of 'The Cape' is that Vince Farraday

who was just a cop

gets framed as 'Chess' who had assasinated the chief of police

whilst in actual fact he was framed by the actual 'Chess', Peter Fleming

who is slowly gaining control of the whole city

through its police force.

and well Vincent Faraday was 'killed' by an explosion

though in actual fact he survived

but everyone believes him dead, including his wife and son.

he gets rescued by a bunch of circus bank robbers

and eventually gets trained by Max to be 'the Cape'

so that he can take out Peter Fleming

who destroyed his life.

Enter 'Orwell' who is the city's eye

the faceless person exposing police corruption

she eventually teams up with 'the Cape' against 'Peter Fleming'.

the show is pretty dark

but I find it quite interesting

can't wait til the next episode

3. the zombie episode

i usually don't like zombie anything

but this was written really well

and was really funny

TV: community

a show i started watching and LOVE just last night

is Community

its so funny :)

its about a bunch of adults at a not-so-highly-rated college

so most of them are returning back to college

(i.e. theres like a 60 y.o. man and a 40 something divorced lady, amongst others)

though two of them actually came from high school

and so the basic plot is that this guy started a Spanish "study group"

so he can date one of the the girls in his class
but one thing led to another and they actually became a Spanish study group.

its funnier than it sounds

my favourite character is Abed

he's so weird and hilarious :)

i especially enjoy the Abed and Troy endings to the episodes

you'd definitely enjoy it, if you liked arrested development

its similar sort of humour

survivor nicaragua finale !!

currently watching survivor finale

(so stop reading if you don't want to be spoiled)

but its loading rather slow

so i'm a quarter way through

& i really really really want fabio/judd to win

but i've just finished watching when they commemorate each of the players gone

and they usually say nice things about each one of them

the funniest though was tyrone's

because all holly said was 'tyrone the fireman'

HAHAHA

could they seriously not say

oh yeah, he was a nice guy or something.

also, after i heard naonka's spiel/explanation

i was like 'are you serious?'

she's seriously deluded

like she was saying how she played a smart game and that she was nice.

no. and no.

1. she stole food (stupid move)

2. she's in-your-face and rude, yelling at people for no reason

3. she's a backstabber

4. she's a quitter

5. she knew she was going to quit and that she was going to have food that night, yet she still didn't give up her place for reward so that others can eat.

so no, definitely not a smart game. not even close.

and she's just painted herself as being one of the most rude and selfish people that has ever played survivor.

hahaha, so fabio's just playing on everyone's minds now

i totally knew it

he totally played up that he was so stupid and blonde in the beginning

but slowly we are seeing that he is quite smart

i remember that episode when they were talking about freud

and he actually knew about the iceberg/subconscious theory

and it was then i knew that he was playing dumb

so that everyone would discount him as a threat

and last episode

when he saw his mum and he was all emotional

that was so cute

i liked holly better than sash or chase though

sash is freaking slimy

and a horrible liar.

& chase is indecisive and annoying

and a backstabber.

and i found it so funny

especially dan and jane.

so it's looking like a split between fabio and chase.

i still think its fabio though.
